Parenting With Love and Leadership
October 7 ● 2:00 - 5:30 pm

John Rosemond at First Baptist Roswell.

Mission of the Month - September
Foster Care Support Foundation

The Mission of the Month for September is the Foster Care Support Foundation (FCSF). For the past several years, FCSF has served an increasing number of children and this year is no exception. 2018 has already exceeded expectations by more than 400 children. Inventory for specific clothing items is running low. Shop from the MOM Items in Need List and drop off at the Information Center or church collection bins throughout the month of September.


MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)
September 2018 through April 2019

We are starting a MOPS (Mothers Of Preschoolers) Group! Our group will meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 9:30 AM- 11:30 AM September-May. This group is focused on building community for moms of preschoolers. We would love for you to join us! Participants must have at least one child who is Kindergarten or under. Fall Festival
Cakes Needed for Cake Walk

Cakes Needed for Fall Festival: We need cakes and baked goods for our Cake Walk at Fall Festival! The cake walk is always such a big hit, and that’s thanks to your generous donations. Baked goods can be homemade or store bought. They must be dropped off at the church before 2 PM on Saturday, October 20th (they can be dropped off during the week prior to).

Sign up online or in your Sunday School class. Call the church office with any questions. Thanks!


Other Announcements

Save the Date- September 22nd & 23rd: On Saturday, Sept. 22nd, there will be an opportunity for the church to meet the candidate (and family) for the Minister of Spiritual Development position in the gym from 2-4PM. On Sunday, Sept. 23rd, there will be a called church conference at 9:45AM to officially present the candidate. The church will vote on the candidate on Sept. 30th at the end of both worship services.

Ladies’ Bible Study (Morning Group): Has Begun! Join us on Wednesday mornings as we study Esther together. The morning group meets from 9:30-11:30AM in the Joy House, but will meet in room 313 on Sept. 19th only! The Joyhouse is under renovations through Sept. 21st. The Bible study is led by Penny Walley.

Interim IT Manager:Join us in welcoming Wes Blalock to the staff as our Interim IT Manager!

Called Church Conference: September 26th at 6:30PM. Join us to discuss and vote on the Oxbo Road Relocation Project affecting FBR's Atlanta St parking lot and the Counseling Center parking lot.

Flu Shots for a Cause: Get your Flu Shot at Publix & receive a $10 gift card. Donate your gift card at the church office, & it will help contribute to our Benevolence efforts throughout the year.

Mentoring a Child: Are you interested in making a difference in the life of a child? One to two hours a week can make all the difference! Mentor a child at Roswell North Elem. for an hour a week, or help with the afterschool program at Vickery Mill Elem. for two hours a week. Special Speaker September 19th: Billy Ivey, the creator of “Napkinisms,” will be here on Wednesday, September 19th from 6:30- 7:15PM. Be sure to mark your calendars because you do not want to miss this wonderful evening of inspiration focusing on how doing small things can make a big difference in the lives of others. This special event will take the place of all Wednesday Night Bible study activities except for Mission Friends.

Recognition for Dr. Hamilton: On Sunday, September 30th, we will be recognizing Dr. Doyle Hamilton as he marks 20 years of service here at FBR. If you would like to make a love offering in honor of Dr. Hamilton, please use the specified envelopes found in the pew racks.

Parents’ Night Out: is Saturday, October 6th, from 6 PM- 9 PM. Drop off your kids and have a date night! Children will be playing games, watching a movie, doing a craft, and having a snack. PNO is $10 for 1 child and $20 for 2+. Sign up online or at the Information Center!

Fall Festival: is Saturday, October 20th, from 3 PM- 6 PM. We need volunteers! If you’d like to volunteer for an hour (or more), you can sign up online or at the Information Center. We need volunteers to help with the Cake Walk, popcorn, the bouncies, etc. Thanks for your help!

Youth Fellowship: Our Youth (6th-12th graders) will be going to Whirlyball on Sunday, September 16th from 1:00-3:00PM. Cost is $20. Bring money for lunch. Contact Robert (robert@fbroswell.org), if interested.

Women’s Ministry Kickoff: Join us for our Women’s Ministry Kickoff on Tuesday, Sept. 18th, from 6 PM- 8 PM at the home of Penny Walley. Feel free to drop by! Sign up online or at the Information Center, so we can send you more information! Transportation available. Please contact Ruth at ruth@fbroswell.org, if you would like to ride the bus. Spaces are limited.

Churchwide Lunch & Poverty Simulation: On Sunday, October 21st we will have a churchwide lunch from 12:00 -1:00PM in the gym. Afterwards, we invite those who are interested to participate in a Poverty Simulation. This impactful simulation aims to provide participants with a deeper understanding of the challenges facing those living in poverty in our community. Participants must be 12 & up. Those under 12 will participate in a separate poverty related activity. Sign-up online or at the Information Center. Flyer with more information available at Information Center.
