High School Rafting Trip

July 8, 2023

High school youth are invited to raft the Ocoee River!  Join us on Saturday, July 8 for this event.  We will depart promptly from the church at 9 AM (plan to arrive at 8:30) and return at 8 PM.   The rafting fee is $50.  Bring money for lunch, dinner, and souvenirs.  All participants MUST sign a waiver to raft.  Download the pdf waiver form here.  Waivers must be completed and turned in prior to church departure.

Rafters will enjoy the Middle Ocoee, America’s most popular whitewater rafting river with Ocoee Outdoors, the #1 Ocoee River rafting company.  The rafting experience includes 2 hours on the water, total trip time is approximately 4 hours.

Following are the most commonly asked rafting questions.

What Gear is Provided?  

Lifejacket, helmet, paddle, raft and guide area all provided!

What Do I Need To Bring?

  • Swimsuit or shorts and a t-shirt that you don’t mind getting soaking wet
  • Water shoes – these can be sandals with straps, actual water shoes, or tennis shoes that you don’t mind getting wet.  No flip-flops or slides!
  • You might want to bring sunglasses.  If you do, they need sunglasses straps
  • Towel
  • Change of clothes
  • Cash for lunch, dinner, gift shop, and optional gratuity

What is the Minimum Age Limit? Why?

The minimum age limit is 12. The Tennessee State Parks Department requires that to raft the Ocoee River.

Do I Need to Sign a Waiver?

Yes. You can download the pdf here. Print, complete and give to Robert. You MUST have a signed waiver in order to raft.

Should I Tip my Guide?

While gratuity is not required, and not included in your reservation cost, it is always welcome.  If you thoroughly enjoyed your experience and want to express your appreciation to your guide, gratuities are genuinely appreciated.
