CHILDREN’S CHOIR REGISTRATION

The Children and Youth Music Ministries provide opportunities for vocal development, sound choral training, and nurturing in the foundations of our faith to children ranging from age 4 through grade 12.

 

Children’s Choirs
Children’s Choirs are a combination of choir groups of children ranging from age 4 through grade 5. Each choir has leadership, collectively referred to as children’s choir workers, that consist of a director, one or more assistant teachers and an outreach leader. Each of our choirs offer places to explore God-given talents, as well as many means of worshiping God through a variety of percussion instruments including many varied drums and Orff instruments.  The Children’s Choirs Finale each spring includes all groups and is a wonderful opportunity for parents to witness the difference in music skills learned at each level, as well as, a chance for children to experience worship through music at all ages and see what they have accomplished.  Each choir participates in worship services throughout the year, as well as special concerts and off-site mission opportunities.

Joyful Singers Choir
The Joyful Singers Choir is for children ages 4 through grade 1. The choir practices on Sunday evenings from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM in room 203, Sanctuary building.

Music Makers Choir
The Music Makers Choir is for children in grades 2 and 3. The choir practices on Sunday evenings from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM in room 202, Sanctuary building.

Young Musicians Choir
The Young Musicians Choir is for youth in grades 4 and 5.  During a typical rehearsal, age appropriate anthems are learned, as well as familiarity of hymns and playing a variety of instruments.  These activities help to develop a strong musical foundation and serve to strengthen the children’s relationship with God.  An added bonus is the friendships that grow throughout the year with fellow choir members.  The Young Musicians Choir is encouraged to participate in worship services and sing at local nursing homes.  The choir rehearses on Sunday evenings from 5:30 to 6:30 PM in room 201, Sanctuary building.

Youth Choir
Youth Choir is for youth from grade 6 through grade 12. The group rehearses weekly and leads worship several times throughout the year.  The Youth Choir practices on Sunday evenings from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM in the Joyhouse.

Youth Praise Band
The Youth Praise Band meets regularly on Sunday evenings in the Joyhouse.  The band loves getting together to rehearse and play contemporary worship music and occasionally leads worship for our youth on Sunday mornings, and for the church at special events.
