God did not promise everything would be easy on this side of heaven. We will struggle here - mentally, physically, and spiritually. But he did promise if we accept Christ and follow him, he will be with us through it all. God has a plan for everything that happens, nothing surprises him. We are here for Christ and to help him carry out his plan on earth. Press on as you seek to serve Christ in all circumstances. We have everything to live for when we are living for Christ!

Have you heard the common phrase, “the grass looks greener on the other side”? When we are focused on what others have and are doing, we tend to neglect our own 'yard'. God wants us to be content where we are with what we have. We are a part of a bigger plan, God’s plan, and it looks different for everyone. Focus on watering and fertilizing your own ‘grass’ with prayer, service, worship, bible study...so it can grow and thrive.

When you take a photo, you ‘focus’ on the subject

When you take a photo, you ‘focus’ on the subject and the rest is blurry or in the background. The same can apply to our spiritual focus. Hebrews 12:2 reminds us to ‘keep our eyes fixed on Jesus’. In Colossians 3:2 we are reminded to ‘set our minds on things above, not earthly worries’. If we focus on Christ and focus on what matters for eternity, it helps keep all other distractions blurred in the background. Stay focused!
