2017 Angel Tree For Foster Care
November 15th - December 19th
The annual Angel Tree for Foster Care is now available outside the Sanctuary (piano side). Take an angel or two, purchase your gift(s) and return your items by Sunday, December 10th. Please do not wrap the gifts! Thanks in advance for your continued support of this mission project.
Youth Mission Project: Christmas Prayer Rail- “Be anxious for nothing, in every situation, by prayer & petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”, Philippians 4:6. Outside, between the sanctuary and the parlor we have a Prayer Rail. Donating to our Youth Missions, you receive a ribbon, which you can then tie to the rail as you are saying a prayer for someone or something on your heart. You can do this as many times as you like during this Christmas Season. There will be a table outside the parlor where you can make your donation and pick up your ribbon.
Boys and Girls Winter Basketball League: Ages 7-15 boys and 7-12 girls. Registration began Sunday, October 1st. Cost is $80 per child and you can register your child online or at church. Please turn in forms and payment to Robert. >>Online Registration Form
SALT Ministry Game Days: December 19. Bring your lunch and join us from 12:30 PM until 4:00 PM in the Joy House.
Gifting Grace: Christmas is approaching quickly! We are asking our congregation to consider inviting other members of the FBR family who might not have anyone to spend the holidays with to join them on Christmas Day. We already have one host family signed up, but as the saying goes, “the more the merrier!” If you are interested either as a host or a guest, please contact Ruth in the church office 770-587-6980.
Ushers Are Needed: We are in need of ushers for both the 8:30 am and 11:00 am services. Sundays in December: As Christmas and the New Year approach, take note of our special service times in December. On December 24th and December 31st, we will worship together at 10:30 AM. There will be no 8:30 AM Service or Sunday School on those days. The December 31st will be informal services.
Youth Christmas Party: Saturday, December 9th 6:30 PM -9:30 PM in the Brantley Seymour Building. Come and see the beautiful decorations, enjoy good food, win prizes, and play games. We will have our traditional gift exchange that should cost no more than $10-$15. Please keep it in good taste. Be sure to invite a friend. College students are welcomed to attend as well. Hope to see you there!
Elf Workshop: Sunday, Dec 10th 4:00 PM-6:00 PM in the Gym for grades 3 Year old – 5th grade. Your kids will make 3 gifts, enjoy pizza, Christmas goodies, and watch a Christmas movie. Please RSVP to Jessica at email@example.com, if you are interested in your child attending.
Christmas Eve Services: Join us for Christmas Eve worship! We will have our Family Christmas Eve service at 5:00 PM and our Candlelight service at 11;00 PM on Sunday December 24th.
Special Speaker: On Wednesday, December 13th, missionary Brian Burt will be here to share about his work with International Missions. Please join us at 6:30 pm in the chapel for this special event.
An Evening of Instrumental Music Sunday, December 10th : This presentation by Our Church Orchestra and The Jubilee Ringers will be in the Sanctuary at 7:00 p.m. and also includes instrumental specials. Come and celebrate the music of the Christmas season!
“Jesus” – a Christmas musical Sunday, December 17th : Our Chancel Choir and Church Orchestra will present “Jesus” by Mary McDonald in the Sanctuary at 7:00 p.m. Invite friends and family to join us as we celebrate the season of His birth and honor the gift of a Savior – our Savior – JESUS!
Emergency Call Line: We now have an emergency call line in place. Should an emergency need arise and you need to reach a pastor during the weekend, you can now call the emergency call line at (770)344-0319. When you call, leave a message, and the on call pastor will respond as soon as possible.
Special Speaker: As a part of the 2017 Week of Prayer for International Missions, missionary Brian Burt will be here on Wednesday, December 13th to share about his work. Brian and his family have been serving Persian immigrants and refugees in Germany for the past 5 years. Please join us at 6:30 PM in the chapel for this special event. Drake House “Santa Shop”: Monday Evening—December 18th. Women on Mission Elves are needed to help with set up and to assist the children as they shop for gifts for their moms. We’ll meet at the Drake Center on Clara Drive in Roswell. Set up starts at 5:30 PM, with shopping assistance starting around 6:30 PM. Wear your Christmas sparkles! Preschool Pancake Pajama Party: Sign your preschooler up for our Pancake Pajama Party! Saturday, January 6th, from 9 AM- 11 AM on the Preschool hall. We’ll wear our pjs, eat pancakes, and watch a movie. This event is for 3 year olds- Kindergarteners. Sign your child up online by CLICKING HERE. or calling the church office.
Disciple Now Weekend- A Youth Event: January 26th -January 28th. The theme this year is OUTCAST: finding your place in God’s kingdom. The event will be hosted at the homes of church members where our youth will share in unique Bible studies and gain a new understanding of God’s word. Cost is $85, but if you register early online you’ll save $10. The early registration fee of $75 will run from now until January 14th. After January 14th, the cost will be $85, so register now! All registration will end January 21st. Payments can be given to Robert or Gloria at the church office.
