Golf for Missions Tournament
Brookfield Country Club ● June 4th ● Check-in 8:00 am

 

Our 20th Annual Golf Tournament for Missions will be June 4th at Brookfield Country Club. We need golfers and sponsors to help make this event a success! All proceeds from this event go towards mission efforts across the world.

Join us for a fun-filled day of golf and fellowship.

Mission of the Month for May 2018
The Drake House - Food Pantry

Our mission focus this month is for several specific Food Pantry Items for the Drake House Families. A complete list can be found online below, and you will find a list of the suggested items on a purple “bookmark” at the entrances to our sanctuary. Please place your items in the blue donation bins located in the Information Center and near the elevators throughout the month. We will deliver the items. Thanks!

Save The Date: Vacation Bible School
June 11th -June 15th 9 am -12 Noon

Save The Date: Vacation Bible School - Shipwrecked-Saved by Jesus! June 11th -June 15th 9 am -12 Noon. Online registration began Thursday, March 1st. Children must have been age 4 by September 1, 2017 to participate. .

Other Announcements

One Service Memorial Day Weekend: There will be one service on Sunday, May 27th at 11:00AM in the Sanctuary with Sunday School at the regular time of 9:45AM. No 8:30AM service.

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering Update: Your donations have reached $15,704 as of May 13th, and we continue to look to our goal of $18,000 this year. We are still accepting donations and encourage you to continue praying in support of our missionaries. Thank you!

Come aboard and join us for Shipwrecked VBS!: We need more crew leaders! Our crew leaders get the children from station to station while building relationships along the way. No prep required! If you are interested in being a preschool or elementary crew leader, please email Jessica (jessica@fbroswell.org) or call the office. VBS is June 11th-15th from 9 AM- Noon!

Snacks Needed for VBS: We need your help! Help us show our appreciation for our VBS volunteers by signing up to bring in a snack for them! You can bring in something sweet or something salty. VBS is June 11th-15th from 9 AM- Noon. Sign up at the information center or in your Sunday School class! Call Jessica at the church office (770) 587-6980 with any questions.

The Southern Baptist Convention: will be held in Dallas, Texas on June 12-13. If you are interested in going, please call Ira in the church office for information on registration.

Appalachian Outreach: July 8-12. Mark your calendars now for this wonderful opportunity to serve God and serve others. If you are interested in joining our team and helping us rebuild the home of a well-deserving family, contact Steve Morton: srmorton@fbroswell.org or Steve Donaldson.

Volunteers Needed: We are seeking more volunteers for our Bereavement Team. This group works as ushers for funeral services held in our church. If you are interested, please call Ira in the church office.

Volunteers needed for Community Outreach: Help us share our church with the Roswell community! Sign up to be a trolley ambassador or volunteer to tell people about our church at our booth on the Square for Alive in Roswell. Dates needed are: May 17th, June 21st, July 19th, August 16th, September 20th, and October 18th. Bring a friend and sign up! Shifts are 5pm-7pm, and 7pm- 9pm. Sign up at the Information Center or online here!

Deacon Ministry: The Deacon Special Projects Team is looking to lend a helping hand! If you know of someone in need of help around the house, please contact Ruth in the church office (770) 587-6980. Whether it is yard work or home repairs, the team is ready and willing to help in any way they can.

SALT Peach Trip: Join us Wednesday, July 11. We will go to Lane's Peach Orchard, Brown's Farm Market, and Ellis Pecan Company. Lunch will be on your own at Yoder's Family Restaurant. Cost is $35. We will leave the church at 8:00AM and return around 6:00PM (No Pastor's Bible Study in July). Call Ira in the church office to sign up by Monday, July 2nd.

Services in June: As we did last year, we will be having the 8:30AM service in the Chapel during the month of June. The 11:00AM service will be in the Sanctuary.

A note about Summer: Last year, the ministers decided to start dressing in accordance with the church calendar. During special times of year like Advent and Lent, the ministers wear liturgical robes in recognition of the significance of the season. During June and July, the ministers will be dressed more casually. As always, we encourage you to dress as you feel comfortable, regardless of the time of year.

Christmas Program DVDs: If you ordered a Christmas Program DVD, you can pick it up at the Information Center today. CDs will be ready at a later date.

New Sunday School Class: We are excited to announce the formation of our newest Sunday School class, “College and Young Professionals,” beginning Sunday, June 3rd. This class is open to both college students and young professionals (age range 18-35). This class is designed to be inclusive of all young adults, married or single, and will focus on topics affecting the younger generation today. We hope you will join us on June 3rd at 9:45AM in the Parlor.
