Mission of the Month - January
Supplies for Service Day

Supplies needed for use on our service day, Beyond Our Walls, February 10, 2018. Specific items needed are listed on the web (click here), on cards outside the sanctuary, as well as on the TV kiosks. Watch for updates on these needs throughout the month. Also, financial donations to off-set the cost of our expenses (i.e. t-shirts, lunch and snacks, advertising, and miscellaneous supplies) will be accepted. Be sure to designate your gift “Beyond our Walls”.

Registration is now open

Our Annual Day of Service is only a month away! This year’s event will be Feb. 10, 2018! Invite friends, family, and neighbors to join us as we reach Beyond Our Walls to serve the community. You can register online at home OR you can go to the Information Counter outside the Sanctuary (piano side) where there will be people to assist with registration. You don’t want to miss out on this special day!

Help Needed

Do you know of anyone (locally) in need of help around the house? We are looking for projects for our light construction/outdoor project crews to tackle during this year’s Beyond Our Walls event. Mission of the Month - December

MISSION OF THE MONTH - DECEMBER UPDATE Thanks for your generous support of our International Missions Offering. As of 12/31/17 we surpassed our $25,000 goal and have received $25,678 for International Missions (reflects both the SBC Lottie Moon Christmas Offering and the CBF Global Missions Offerings).

Other Announcements

Disciple Now Weekend- A Youth Event: January 26th -January 28th. The theme this year is OUTCAST: finding your place in God’s kingdom. Youth will stay in host homes where they will have Bible studies and gain a new understanding of God’s word. Registration closes January 21. Cost is $85. RHS Mentoring Program: Our church is supporting the Roswell High School mentoring program by providing snacks every Tuesday in the month of January, beginning January 9th. An example of the different snacks that we’ll need are grapes, cheese cracker packages, cookies, Capri Sun drinks, etc. If interested, you can sign up by emailing Robert at or Gloria at Please indicate which Tuesday you will be providing snacks. Church-wide Medical and Service Mission Trip to Haiti:July 13th-21st. Anyone wishing to attend needs to make a deposit of $100 by Wednesday, January 17th. Please contact Robert or the church office with your payment. Cost will be $800 per person. If you have any questions about this mission opportunity, please feel free to contact Robert or Larry Feldman.

Young Musicians: will sing January 21st at the 11:00 AM Worship Service. Director: Maryann Tyler.

Wednesday Morning Ladies’ Bible Study: The Quest-An Excursion Towards Intimacy with God by Beth Moore. A six-week Bible study beginning January 24th at 9:30 am in the Joyhouse. Penny Walley will facilitate the study and invites members, their friends, and relatives to attend. The cost of the workbook for the study is $15.

Information Center: You may have noticed that there have been a few additions to the area by the elevator outside the Sanctuary. Starting in February this will be the home of our new Information Center. This will be the go to place to get flyers about upcoming events, to sign up for events or volunteer opportunities, and to sign up to donate flowers for the Sanctuary. We are looking for volunteers of all ages to assist at the center after the services on Sundays. If you can work an iPad, you’re in! Father/Son Bowl Off: Bring your son to Stars and Strikes for a bowl off! Saturday, January 27th, 10 AM- Noon. Preschool-5th Grade boys and their dads. Older siblings welcome! $5 a person, includes bowling and pizza! Sign up online or by emailing Jessica (

Sunday Fit Day: Looking to keep those New Year’s Resolutions? Join Romielyn Joson in the Zumba Room (E353) on Sunday afternoons from 5:30-6:30 for a great workout. All are welcome!

Daddy Daughter Dance: Saturday, February 3rd 6-8 pm in the Brantley Seymour Building. There will be music, dancing, and yummy snacks. You can purchase your tickets beginning January 7th outside the Sanctuary after the 11:00 service and on Wednesday nights. Cost is $5 for dads, and daughters are free.

Quarterly Church Conference: The next quarterly church conference will be Sunday, January 28th, at 6:45 pm in the Sanctuary. The Church Council will meet immediately after the conference in the chancel choir rehearsal room. If you are a committee chair, you are a member of the council.

DNOW & Alaska Trip Parents’ Meeting: Sunday, January 21, at 5pm in the Joyhouse. Please have at least one parent attend the meeting if your child(ren) are participating in these events. All money for DiscipleNow is dueJanuary 21. For those who plan on going on the Alaska Mission Trip, a $100 deposit is required at the time of sign-up to secure your slot, so please bring your deposits to the meeting. Space is limited, so don’t delay!

Couples Bible Study in February: Starting February 7th, the Couples Bible Study on Wednesday nights will be studying Better Halves: Get Clear on…Money. Join us as Amy Head and Dr. Doyle Hamilton talk about how money is more than just dollars and cents, how our families affect the way we view money, what happens when spenders and savers get married, how to be generous no matter what we have, and how we can show gratitude. Join us in E350 on Wednesday nights at 6:30 PM for this 6 week study.

Christmas Programs on DVD: If you would like to receive a DVD set of our Christmas programs, please call the church office 770.587.6980 to reserve your copy. This DVD set will include videos of: The Greening of the Sanctuary, “Jesus,” and “Instrumental Christmas.” The videos will be available in February.

SALT TRIP TO HIGH MUSEUM: Join us on Tuesday, February 20th, for a trip to the High Museum of Art. We will leave the church at 9:00 a.m. Tour from 10:00 to 12:00. Moderate walking. Lunch on your own at Mary Mac’s Tea Room. We should arrive back at the church around 3:00 pm. Cost is $40 for transportation and tour. RSVP to Ira by Friday, February 16th.

Boys and Girls Winter Basketball League: Ages 7-15 boys and 7-12 girls. Registration began Sunday, October 1st. Cost is $80 per child and you can register your child online or at church. Please turn in forms and payment to Robert.  >>Online Registration Form
